WaPo: "Palin Links Iraq to 9/11 Attacks" -- only she didn't.  Palin's actual statement described the mission of US forces currently fighting in Iraq as “defend[ing] the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans.”  Michelle Malkin says, Washington Post Blows It.

Palin simply had the temerity to point out that the Al Qaeda we are fighting in Iraq is the same organization -- same leadership, same tactics, same goals -- that planned and executed the 9/11 attacks.

The Weekly Standard describes the WaPo article as "either stupid or malicious" and notes that the WaPo editors altered the story to reflect the fact that Al Qaeda in Iraq is in fact the same organization led by Osama Bin Laden.
